ASIA INSURANCE INDUSTRY AWARDS - THE WINNERS

Hence, we are truly expectant that the entries for the 14th Asia Insurance Industry Awards will reveal the scope and depth of the growth, development and innovation in the Asian insurance landscape. Though Asia has not been spared the vagaries of the wrath of Mother Nature, the insurance industry seems to be on an even keel thanks to its 'back to basics' approach which has accelerated development. This is sure to to be a theme of this year's East Asian Insurance Congress where the Asia Insurance Industry Awards Gala Presentation Dinner will be held on October 17 2010 at the Westin Resort Nusa Dua in Bali.

The Awards, now in their 14th year, enjoy an established position in the history of the Asian insurance industry. They serve as the true litmus test of what is happening within the industry and outside. Hence, this year, in line with the growing concerns with the environment and global warming, we have included a new category of 'Green Company of the Year'. This aims to encourage insurers to show they are doing more to help protect the earth. And given the influence of technology in the information intensive and information sensitive insurance industry, we have added another category, 'Technology Initiative of the Year', to highlight cutting edge efforts to boost efficiency.

We are delighted that despite the hard work and dedication expected of the judges, we have assembled a distinguished panel of 28 top industry leaders, practitioners and regulators from the markets in Asia and from around the globe. The selection process will be rigorous in three stages and audited by an independent consultant.

To take part in the awards, all you have to do is nominate your partners, competitors or leaders, and tell us why they deserve to win in that particular awards category (see page 2 for more details). You can always nominate yourself. There is no shame in believing you are the best!

So join us in saluting excellence, for without striving to be the best, there is no real drive in business.

Good luck!
