AWARDS
Flagstone Re, broker Guy Carpenter and XL Group's Mike McGavick, were among the winners of the 17th annual Worldwide Reinsurance Awards, which were held by The Review, at The Dorchester hotel in London last night.
Flagstone picked up the coveted Reinsurance Company of the Year gong for the first time.
Meanwhile, Guy Carpenter's Middle East and North Africa team was crowned Reinsurance Broking Team of the Year, the sixth time that Guy Carpenter has been awarded this accolade in the past seven years.
Mr McGavick who is CEO at XL Group scooped the Industry Personality of the Year title for his work in turning round the Bermuda based re/insurer following the financial crisis.
Meanwhile former Lloyd's Franchise Director Rolf Tolle took the lifetime achievement award for his work at the market.
More than 300 senior insurance and reinsurance executives attended the presentation, which was hosted by The Review editor, Ruth Lythe.
